NEW CHURCH VAN

The Parochial Church Council in its meeting on 14 August 2008 has approved the purchase of a new Toyota Hi-Ace to replace one of our aging van. This decision is in response to the request made in our last Annual General Meeting for the PCC to consider replacing the existing church vans in view of its high cost of maintenance. After studies and deliberation on different models and cost, the PCC decided on Toyota based on its durability and track record.

Our Church has three vans, i.e. 2 units Ford Econovan (1991,1993) and a Toyota Hi-Ace (1997). Both Ford Econovans have served more than 15 years and have registered more than 450000km. In these last few years, maintenance on both vans has increased due to tear and wear.

The purchase of the new van is also timely. Apart from savings in maintenance and fuel, it is also meeting the growing ministries in our church especially in the children, youth and senior citizen ministries. There are still many who needs transport to church and this service is essential in the church’s on-going outreach.

The cost of the new van is RM94,500.00 (on the road). The delivery of the new van will take about two months. Meanwhile, we hope to raise sufficient funds for the van so that we will not need to take any bank loans. If you wish to contribute to the purchase of the van, kindly use the church offering envelope and designate it for Church Van.

The Lord spoke of David in Acts 13:36 “For David had served God's purpose in his own generation.” We cannot do anything for the past generation for it was before us and it has passed. We can only do our small part for the present and future generation. May I encourage you to attempt great things for the Lord
